Privacy policy

SealedCheck is a small independent price-comparison site. This page explains, in plain words, what we do with your information under the UK GDPR and the EU GDPR.
Who is responsible
SealedCheck is run by an individual, not a company. For any data question, email hello@sealedcheck.co.uk and we will reply within 30 days.
We do not use cookies
This site sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device for tracking. That is why you are not being shown a cookie banner.
What we collect
If you sign up for price alerts
We store your email address and which products you asked to be alerted about. We use double opt-in: we send you a confirmation email first, and you are not subscribed until you click the link in it. If you never click, the address is discarded.
- Why we are allowed to: your consent (UK/EU GDPR Article 6(1)(a)).
- What we use it for: emailing you when a price drops. Nothing else. We never sell or share your address.
- Who else sees it: Brevo, our email provider, who store and send the emails on our behalf. Brevo is EU-based.
- How long we keep it: until you unsubscribe, or after 24 months with no opens, whichever comes first.
- Unsubscribing: every email has a one-click unsubscribe link. You can also email us and we will delete you.
Visitor statistics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views. It is cookieless, does not fingerprint you, does not follow you to other sites, and gives us only anonymous totals. We cannot identify you from it.
- Why we are allowed to: our legitimate interest in knowing whether the site is useful (Article 6(1)(f)), balanced against the fact that no personal data is retained.
Clicks on links out to shops
When you click through to a retailer or to eBay, we count that the click happened, for that product. We record no information about you, so this is not personal data.
Your rights
You have the right to ask for a copy of your data, to have it corrected or deleted, to withdraw consent at any time, and to complain to a regulator. In the UK that is the Information Commissioner's Office; in the EU it is your national data protection authority.
Where your data goes
The site is hosted by Cloudflare and emails are handled by Brevo. Both may process data outside the UK/EU under standard contractual clauses.
Children
This site is not aimed at children, and we do not knowingly collect email addresses from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has signed up, email us and we will delete the address.
Changes
If we change how we use your data, we will update this page and change the date at the top.
